HISTORY
In 2000, Mary Goetze and Jay Fern created a partnership committed to bringing new and meaningful materials to classrooms, educators and musicians across the country. This journey around the world led to diverse and enriching products now available at Mj Publishing. Company Profile
Mj Publishing offers books, music, the Global Voices Interactive and Global Voices Comprehensive series as well as the Global Voices curriculum set, Grades 1-6. These publications are for educators, school, university and public libraries for use in research or classroom settings. Products have been enthusiastically received by members of MENC, ACDA, OAKE, and others.
The Global Voices series provide primary sources for presenting music from diverse cultures to groups of singers or listeners in classrooms and choirs. The visual models of games and dances from around the globe bring music and culture to life. Here's what the authors say about these series:
"A powerful way to develop an understanding of people who think, live and make music in ways that are unfamiliar is to re-create their music. Through singing and moving,students come to know something of the culture through their senses and to enter the aesthetics of another culture' world.
